Everything You Need to Know About Hiring a Celebrant in Kent

Ooo, great question! The best way to celebrate, of course! A celebrant-led wedding offers you complete freedom! Unlike a ceremony led by a registrar, where you typically meet them just 20 minutes before the wedding and follow a standardised script, a celebrant-led ceremony is all about personalisation. It’s a heartfelt experience designed to reflect your unique story, turning life’s special moments into an unforgettable celebrations. Currently in England, celebrants are unable to complete the legal aspect, but this can be done at your local registry office for anything from £60 – £80 for a 2:2 ceremony, depending on your location. 

I offer wedding ceremonies, baby naming ceremonies, and vow renewals across Kent and the surrounding areas. As an independent celebrant, I create ceremonies that are personal and unique to you.

Of course you can! It is a Celebrant Ceremony after all so you have the freedom. If you would like to write your own vows but you are unsure of where to start or maybe you would like someone to run them by, I will happily help guide you and work with you to make them everything you want.

After our initial online chat and the completion of your couples questionnaire, I will start drafting your ceremony. With another in person where possible or online meeting I will dig a little deeper and have a draft sent over to you to read through. Your ceremony can have any traditional elements you wish, I’ve had a Mr and Mrs Quiz, a sing along and I’ve even taped the rings under a chair for a surprise ring bearer. 

As with many Wedding Suppliers, I do get booked for the popular weekends from May to September quite far in advance. So my suggestion would be to book in a get to know each other call and then go from there. 

Yes I am happy to travel. I do not charge additional fees for mileage up to 30 miles. For any bookings further afield I can send over a personilsed quote. For Weddings abroad Travel fees and any additional time will need to be covered by the couple.

One of the biggest benefits of having a celebrant is the total freedom it gives you. You can have your ceremony anywhere that’s meaningful to you, whether it’s a woodland, your own garden, a beach at sunset. A celebrant led ceremony is all about your story, your style, and your setting.

To secure your date in my diary, I ask for a 20% deposit to be paid. The remaining balance is due 6 weeks before your wedding date 

I hope this doesn’t happen but life can throw curve balls sometimes. If you have to reschedule your date and I am free, I can change your date no problem. If I am already booked on your new date, I will recommend other Celebrants that I have worked with before and know well. If you have to Cancel your wedding the deposit is non refundable.
